Admission Requirements

Identity Verification: In order to provide a safe and secure learning environment at BRCC, admission to our college requires that all new applicants verify their identity. Applicants will need access to a computer or mobile device that has a camera in order to provide a real-time photo of themselves (Liveness Check) and upload a photo ID (Driver's License, Passport, ID Card, etc.).

BRCC has an open admissions policy. You may apply and register if you:

• Are at least 18 years of age, 
• Or, if younger than 18, you have a high school diploma or GED.

Admissions Process

1. Submit an Online Application

    There is no fee to apply to BRCC. Once your application is submitted, you will receive a Student ID number and username.     Make sure to keep this information for your records. After you complete the Application for Admission, be sure to login to     your MyBRCC Portal. The temporary password that is issued to new students is valid for 24 hours. If you are a BRCC     returning student or you have attended another Virginia community college, your username and password are the same as     your previous enrollment. Use the "Forgot Username/Password" links if you do not remember them. 

2. Apply for Financial Aid

    All degree- and certificate-seeking students are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Financial aid may come in the form of     grants, scholarships, loans, or work-study positions. Learn more about financial aid. 

3. Complete the New Student Onboarding Form

    Please fill out the New Student Onboarding Form (Google Form). A member of our advising team will contact you via email     regarding course recommendations.  Call 540-453-0264 or email info@brcc.edu for assistance. 

4. Register and Pay for Classes 

    Register for classes through MyBRCC. You will need your username and password you received after submitting your     application. 

    Pay for classes online through MyBRCC or in person at the Cashier's Office, located in the Houff Student Center. Get     assistance with billing and payment information or call 540-453-2301.
