Please fill out the online application as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the "Submit Your Application" on any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. There is no application fee.
Complete the Direct Enrollment questionnaire to determine your English and math placement. You will log into the questionnaire by using your MySVCC username and password received after submitting your application. If you do not have this information, please contact the SVCC IT Helpdesk at 434-949-1010 or helpdesk@southside.edu.
Apply for Financial Aid and SVCC Foundation Scholarships.
If you are a transfer student, submit official college transcripts to Admissions & Records for all colleges attended.
After completing the placement survey, schedule an appointment with a Navigator Team Member to assist you with your first course selections. You will be assigned a faculty advisor to assist you with future registrations.
Pay tuition and fees by the tuition due dates, either in person or online via MySVCC. You can also apply for our tuition payment plan.
When all required items have been received by the Office of Admissions, individuals are eligible for admission to Southside Virginia Community College if they are high school graduates or the equivalent, or if they are eighteen years of age or older and able to benefit academically from study at Southside Virginia Community College as demonstrated by assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics. The college reserves the right to evaluate special cases and to refuse admission to applicants if such refusal is considered to be in the best interest of the college. Individuals may be admitted to the college as curricular or non-curricular students.

Students who wish to enroll in an associate degree program should have a high school diploma or GED certificate. To enroll in a degree, diploma or certificate program, students should complete an application for admission and an application for Virginia in-state tuition rates. Students should also provide previous college transcripts for all previously attended colleges and universities and complete the SVCC Direct Enrollment Survey. High school transcripts should be provided for home school students and students pursuing SVCC's health-related programs of study.
Students who are not working toward a degree, diploma or certificate may enroll in courses after completing applications for admission and in-state tuition rates.
Students who take Advanced Placement tests may be eligible for credit. Please see our AP credit table for more details.
